Начиная с 66 года, дочь вела активные поиски своего отца. В то время неизвестная писательница Агния Барто занималась поиском пропавших безвести солдат.

После долгих поисков в 2005 году дочь получила известие о том, что 5.12.44 ее отец умер в концлагере Хемер и похоронен в Германии.
